After a decade of fierce fighting, North Vietnamese Army and Viet Cong resistance fighters liberate Saigon from U.S. occupation

Saigon is renamed Ho Chi Minh City in honour of Vietnam's revolutionary leader.

With a limited arsenal of weapons the Vietnamese inflicted the first major defeat on the militarily superior U.S. invaders, Ho Chi Minh even defied U.S. threats of nuclear annihilation and remained steadfast in his struggle. And though he did not live to see the victory, inspired a generation of Vietnamese to face their oppressors with courage, dignity and resolve. Let Vietnam's great victory be a lesson and an inspiration for all those who fight for their freedom today against the same enemy.

"Giải phóng miền Nam", là một bài hát cộng sản Việt Nam (Bắc Việt) liên quan đến giải phóng miền Nam Việt Nam khỏi sự chiếm đóng của phương Tây. Vào ngày 30 tháng 4 năm 1975, lực lượng Bắc Việt và Việt Cộng đã chiếm được thành công thủ đô của miền Nam Sài Gòn, sau này được đặt tên thành "Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh" để tôn vinh nhà lãnh đạo đổ dồn. Chiến thắng triumphant này về chủ nghĩa đế quốc phương Tây, phù hợp cho việc thống nhất đất nước Việt Nam dưới ngọn cờ của chủ nghĩa cộng sản.

"Liberate the South", is a Vietnamese (North/Vietcong) communist song concerning the liberation of South Vietnam (Republic of Vietnam) from western occupation. On the 30th April 1975, North Vietnamese and Vietcong forces successfully captured the Southern capital of Saigon, which would later be named to "Ho Chi Minh City" in honour of the fallen leader. This triumphant victory over Western Imperialism, accommodated for the reunification of the Vietnamese people under the banner of communism.
